Posted: Fri Aug 15, 2008 10:03 am    Post subject:     I must admit I am puzzled by this post, allegedly from Tracey's sister. When it came to selecting stories for the first series, we approached former Assistant Police Commissioner, Bruce Scott, who originally headed the Tracey Patient enquiry. He fully supported us making a programme about Tracey's case and gave us his full support and agreed to be interviewed. Due to his personal beliefs, the detective sergeant that was in charge of the case at the time we filmed was not keen to be interviewed on camera. However, he said that he would not object to the programme being made - so long as Tracey's family agreed. He contacted her parents in England on our behalf. They said that they supported the programme being made, but did not wish to be interviewed on camera. At no time did we have any contact with Tracey's parents - all communication was made via the police, We then independently tried to locate Tracey's sisters in England, to see if they would be interviewed (the police did not have any contacts for them and did not want to ask Tracey's parents). I wrote 80 letters to women with the same names as Tracey's sisters - hoping one of them would reach the right person. I got many letters back - but none were from Tracey's sisters. To the best of my knowledge, at no point before, during, or after the production did we have contact with any member of Tracey's family. Accordingly, I find the following comment very strange “I had the email address of the producer. I contacted her after I’d seen the programme to tell her what I thought of it. She had been very friendly to me when she wanted help with her programme, but she never replied to my email." I know for a fact that there was no communication with Tracey's sister before or during the filming. At that stage Sensing Murder had a different associate producer - it is possible that she received an email from Tracey's sister after the programme, but there is no record of this in our system - I have checked. The message on the blog linked to may well be from someone pretending to be Tracey's sister. There have been instances where people have gone on messageboards like Trade Me posing as members of theproduction team and claiming the show is fake. These people were clearly doing so to try and discredit the show. I wouldn't put it past some of our detractors to stoop this low! If the message was genuinely from Tracey's sister, and if she did email us and did not receive a reply, I would apologise wholeheartedly. The only explanation I can think of is that the email slipped through the cracks and was not seen. The SM team are all contractors and only work for the duration of the production and a few weeks afterwards. Email correspodnance that comes through after our contracts are up is usually forwarded to our personal emails. It's possible the email was sent during a period when the production had halted and was not forwarded to the right person.

I have recently had contact with Tracey's sister Debbie and I she has informed me that her parents were not happy that the programme went a head.

I my self am sorry this gave out pain to them. Ninox and especially from my self do not do the show to hurt, but only to help. Debbie our love, strength, and wanting to help is the only thing we wish to do. And, I pray that who ever did this to Tracey gets caught. Sensing Murder in my view, is a great show, because I know the people that work on these case's only want to help catch the person of negative intentions. My heart and love go to you.
